Depends on the type of VTOL. Quad copter? Not so efficient. Tilt-wing? I imagine it's much better. (Amateur opinion disclaimer)

- zevets 10y agoiirc a v-22 is below 5:1 and somewhere around 3:1 The new DEP designs will do better, but exceeding 10:1 seems unlikely
