Both devices come with a Lighting cable, an Apple first party Lighting cable costs $20 not $30, and third party Lighting cables cost as little as $5.
- brightball 10y agoWhen they initially came out it was $30 IIRC. 3rd party tends to trigger random unsupported notifications from the phone too.
- drakenot 10y agoIt depends on the cable. I've never had that dialog using Amazon Basics or Anker cables.
- coredog64 10y agoIn my house, a $5 bill set on fire will last longer than a $5 Lightning cable. The Apple ones don't last much longer, but I need to squirrel those away to do the undocumented reset on my kids' iPads.
- gsteinb88 10y agoI paid $12 on Amazon for 6 Travalo lightning cables on Amazon and I couldn't be happier with them. Lightning interface is legit (no notifications about unsupported lightning connector) and they're more robust than the official Apple cables.
