MagSafe saved the brand "new" 15" MacBook Pro I bought last week, twice. Once when the young nephew grabbed the wire curious gently tugging it. Another when my mother hit the charger with her foot and sent it flying across the room. As well with the second case it also entirely prevented my mother from taking a nasty fall from tripping. For those that it is useful for it is a big deal.
