I get it and use an adblocker to fight off the more egregious ads (autoplay, overlays, popups, etc), but most websites are ad supported and I don't have an issue with standard banners. The irony seems to be that ad companies are overcompensating for adblockers by offering more intrusive ads, which then inspires more adblocking, which then inspires even more intrusive ads, and the cycle repeatedly escalates.
