I'm sorry, I must have missed the memo on how to buy that bigger nicer house thanks to the housing market being as it is. I don't think people have been upgrading their lives in the areas you claim. Many are happy to have a job but are falling behind as cost of living increases. You are right though about where the majority of gains have gone though.

- shostack 10y agoYes, been living in one for a few years now. Desired house size has gone up quite a bit in many parts of the country. Unlike the Bay Area where there simply isn't room for it, and the tear down rate is not fast enough.
