I haven't looked at WebRTC in a while but what's the compatibility of data channels nowadays? Does it finally work on mobile?

Works fine on Firefox and Chrome, on all systems except iOS. (On iOS, all browsers are Webkit shills.) Safari currently lacks support everywhere. http://caniuse.com/#feat=rtcpeerconnection http://caniuse.com/#feat=rtcpeerconnection

For iOS you can use Bowser browser, which has WebRTC support.

Or, if you want app versions of the game, you can compile webrtc for Android and iOS and get data channels (as well as video/audio).
