C is not going away because is useful, simple, beautiful, and has no problems on dynamic linking on most OSs.

    Well, C is simple in comparison to its alternatives. By a long shot, in my opinion :-)

      Well then, I look forward to your argument supporting the use of Brainfuck or programming raw Turing tapes. Can't get much simpler than those options by your metric!

    I think that it could be said that C is in fact simple but not easy.
