About 9 months ago one of the Scribd cofounders emailed me to follow up on comments I made on HN tearing his product to shreds, and while he was surprised that I had detailed answers to his questions, I think I was even more surprised that he was up for a long involved conversation about the problems, given the sorry state of his product. I got the impression at the time that they were focusing on the site and community to the detriment of making the content actually readable. Now the product is finally living up to the founders :)
