The lack of diversity in tech is well documented and The Guardian is hardly the only publication writing about it.
What do you mean "race drama"? This is about qualified engineers being passed over for jobs because of race. No firing, no "drama".
- emp_zealoth 10y agoYes, they are hired less because hiring them has more risks - they can go shitpost on facebook about how you are a racist for firing/demoting/<insert anything they might not like>. Or they can harass you with media or even sue you, where a white person would be instantly laughed out of court Also, thanks to positive discrimination their degree might actually be less than exactly the same degree of a white person (The sweet irony) It's exactly the same mechanism thaat keeps people from hiring young women in child bearing age - it's illegal and despicable but it will keep happening because doing so means an advantage in business
