Dangerous belief systems are not limited to religion. Nazism was not particularly grounded in religion and in fact embraced scientific ideas of the time (eugenics). Communism as practiced by Stalin and Mao was explicitly atheist. Should we register people who have certain political beliefs as well? Can you see how this might be a bad idea?
