Probably no, but it all boils down to personal preferences. I type this in my bed with a glass of wine next to me. I use the same machine in class on Monday and I use the same thing for client work... and so on and so on. If you are fine with your desktop environment that's okay :) + this is not an MBP, just a 4 years old Dell with 1366x768 resolution. It's just fine. If I work on a larger project I just plug 2 extra screens and I'm good to go.
