AFAIK, it's not the game which is free but the codebase for the game platform which has become OSS.

  The code base that is 2 millions code line and also all the assets that is few gb of data!

    The assets archive is 1.3 gb and it uncompresses to almost 11 gb of data.

  Yes, the codebase. But all of the models and artwork and everything like that are also apparently Creative Commons licensed as well.
