This is a gross misrepresentation. SV != SF, and while I agree that the Bay Area is expensive, and SF ridiculously so, there are plenty of places available for under 2.9k (Even entire detached houses). This is especially true if you're willing to live within a reasonable distance to a Bart station in the East Bay. Check out Oakland, San Leandro, Hayward, Castro Valley, and Fremont. All those have decent Bart access and reasonably priced housing[1]. [1]For someone working in tech making ~multiples~ of entire ~household~ incomes in the Bay Area (Roughly 50-75k depending on the county)
