It's a little tricky though, because the top posts (https://hn.algolia.com/?query=&sort=byPopularity&prefix&page=0&dateRange=all&type=story https://hn.algolia.com/?query=&sort=byPopularity&prefix&page...) are all one-time events, and the # of people on HN has been increasing so upvotes aren't comparable across time. The criteria should be something like "reached the front page multiple times over several years".
