This was also an optimization you could do in Objective-C on NeXTSTEP/OpenStep/macOS. Allocating methods took an optional "zone" parameter (`allocWithZone:`, `copyWithZone:`), which was basically an arena.
In this case, the bigger benefit wasn't the allocation/deallocation – but the fact that you would be working with memory on the same virtual memory page, IIUC.
