I've ended up in a very similar position: stumpwm, st, Adobe Source Code Pro & Super. For my particular style, being able to extend the WM (not customise endlessly: actually extend) is pretty awesome, but I understand that not everyone's into that. After getting everything set up the way I like it, I'll never switch.
