Is Show HN, r/startups and r/sideprojects negative and risky?

If you submit a project to reddit r/startups, r/sideprojects or show HN, is it common that people aggressively downvote it? I want my game to have a chance. There fore I want constructive feedback and of course good reviews. But I don't want bad reviews immediately so it never gets a chance. Just asking if there is a risk by posting to reddit or Hacker news since competing developers might be there.
