Republicans are dickheads, and are cheating democrats out of everything they deserve. Forget that both sides supported the Patriot Act, endless wars, NSA spying on its own citizens. These are all things, in your own words, Krugman, that "politicians and officials no longer seem to care about [that] we used to think were essential American values" It's not just republicans, you worthless shill. Rome also potentially collapsed because they had 90% slave population, so it's not really a fair comparison to us now. People have been comparing the US to empires throughout history since as long as its been powerful enough for that comparison to make sense. Maybe get your head out of your ass and quit your partisan bullshit about how awful half of americans are.
