Does anyone have any comparable analyses for Java? I would assume the performance penalties are similar. There are many popular libraries which rely on annotations (JAX-RS, Jackson, Guice/Spring DI) and this presumably uses reflection heavily, so I've often wondered what kind of impact this has vs not using annotations.
