after using vim and emacs for so long and occasionally eclipse this looks like a step backward. I routinely have two or three different language files open and can work on them simply by switching buffers. It saves a lot of time and clicking. I like some of JetBrains products but having to buy three different editors to do the same work I can do now is a bit of a turn off.
- rhodysurf 10y agoAgreed, it has pushed me back to using sublime/vim and scripts for my projects. Also Eclipse gets a lot of hate, but when I was in college it handled our AUV source code with Python, Java, and C++ all in one project so nicely. I don't really know another IDE can that can handle that situation as well.

But the newest neon release has addressed most of the mistakes they made. Eclipse has wonderful code completion for C++ even gcc on windows with custom libraries. And there are language plugins for Go, Python, Lua and many others that work quite well.
