I wouldn't recommend ebay to anyone at all. This article probably will help potential scammers to actually cheat more people.
- dawnerd 10y agoI'd only use it for low-value items and make sure you're shipping to a real address.
- waterphone 10y agoI buy and sell on it regularly and have done so for many years, with no issues ever. Fraud seems to be primarily focused in certain areas, and niche items—old tools, auto and small engine parts, used outdoor equipment, etc.—doesn't get impacted by those issues.
- eric_h 10y agoJust wait until AI/ML gets good enough/easy enough to use that these scammers can go full auto. You'll send them a lawnmower and they'll dispute and send you back a pair of nail clippers.
- g00gler 10y agoI sell phones and other electronics on a semi regular basis. Usually the only problem I have is people who send obviously fake PayPal emails and request the phone be shipped overseas. No longer accepting addresses outside of the US helped reduce the spam.
