Being a pedestrian sharing space with moving autonomous cars is not a future I'm looking forward to, not one bit. 1. Pedestrian->driver observation and interaction are the primary factors in deciding what's safe. 2. Roads full of networked autonomous vehicles are a hack away from becoming hoards of hurtling tonnage. In my opinion this is all a solution looking for a problem and we should know better than to make our roads so utterly hostile to our own kind.
