Can I ask what you are migrating away to?
- pg_is_a_butt 10y agoexcel supports empty strings
- runeks 10y agoGoogle Datastore wouldn't be a bad bet.
- KirinDave 10y agoNope! We were considering RethinkDB, but then its corporate support fell apart.
- joshuahutt 10y agoI enjoyed RethinkDB a lot. Sad to see the business go belly-up. Have you evaluated Couchbase? I've been looking for an excuse to try it, but I usually just fall back on Postgres.
- KirinDave 10y agoI do not know what Couchbase is appropriate for. Certainly not what we're doing.
- runeks 10y agoWill you comment on why? Surely, if the database-as-a-REST-service model of DynamoDB is considered appropriate, Google Cloud Datastore will work too? Or is it precisely that which you've changed your minds about? The managed-REST-DB approach? I'm curious because I'm currently writing an app, and I've chosen Google Datastore as the DB backend, primarily because it's managed (no DB VM maintenance), and makes scalability easy.
