Your reply gets flagged / downvoted. Perhaps it's because it is really harsh. The thought experiment is real though. But why would so many more people be better off dead now than a few decades ago? Perhaps mental care was better or more accessible? Or the function of f.e. economic stability helps a mentally unstable pass the most unstable period (20s?) with less chance of derailing?
