I run Technical Operations at Revinate. We are based in San Francisco but my team is 100% remote. I'm based in a small town in Kansas. For 2017, I want to hire more engineers with Kubernetes, CoreOS, and Go experience. My team has deep Linux systems administration experience but we've automated ourselves out of most of the day-to-day admin work of yesteryear. Our future hires will be heavily focused on automation. We've already automated builds, testing, deployment, monitoring, and metrics in a Kube/Docker pipeline. I expect to automate load balancing and hardware deployment in 2017. I also expect that we will adapt many of our non-Kubernetes data services for running containerized in Kube.
