Trendy to hate on the monarchy? Doesn't sound like the UK in 2016. 1996 maybe!

- dijit 10y agoAbsolutely not. Listen to any talk "down the pub" about the monarchy. It is extremely unlikely you'll hear anything positive. (Unless it's New Year's Eve when everyone has a shared "proud to be British" sentiment.)
- new299 10y agoHonest question: Can you name a public figure that people down the pub do say positive things about?
- dijit 10y agoStephen Fry. Nigel Farage (typically, ugh). David Attenborough The Actor who plays Mrs Brown in Mrs Browns Boys. The British monarchy as individuals (excluding Charles)
- dangravell 10y agoI think we go to some different pubs.
- martiuk 10y agoAh, yes. The trendy hip pubs with attached microbrewery.
