'We are not earning enough': the Uber driver trying to support his family
- 27182818284 10y agoThe more I see stories like this, though, the more I'm convinced that people should strive to have a different full-time job than driving for a rideshare company and should only do it for supplementary income. In other words, perhaps the Uber-Lyft model just isn't a great model for full-time employment. The drivers I know that show up just for surge pricing (generally here around bar closing time as an example) have told me they're very happy driving. The longshoreman that do it for extra income I've met in Oakland have been very happy with it. The mom I met who drove until her kids were out of school were very happy with it. The reports by people I see online doing it full time? Never happy and never making enough.
