Why does this metric matter so much to so many people? Why not quality of life?
- mc32 10y agoIt's an imperfect proxy for how well a population is doing. But, yes, yours is a question we should peer into to know whether the presumption of longer life = unqualified good. That said, in this case, it's believed self-kill and opioid overdosing are contributing to this trend and those are not good contributors.
