I, for one, would not be happy without a home office. One that I can shut the cats out of, if need be. It's nice having a dedicated space for work. I prefer having a desk, a nice chair, monitor, keyboard, and mouse, rather than sitting cramped on a couch with my laptop. In addition, like swiley mentioned, I like knowing that when I get to my couch, I'm not going to be working.
