I just got my Ham license a couple weeks ago and picked up an updated version of the SDR dongle he's using a few days ago[0][1]. I've just started playing with it but even if you're not that into radio, it's worth $20 and a couple hours with to explore the invisible radio frequency world around us. [0] Be sure to get one with a TCXO (Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator) which reduces frequency drift. [1] His link actually goes to the newer, improved, Mini 2+.
