He just subtracted something from China’s brand that they value, and later he will negotiate with them to maybe give it back in some fashion. Probably in return for some trade concessions. Except he's not the Master Persuader; he's an outright moron. And most likely he took the Taiwan call because (aside from the speculation that he thought it might have benefited his business) he thought they were... two different countries. And that the whole "China-Taiwan" thing was settled back around when he last voluntarily read a book. That is to say, about 35 years ago. Don’t worry about China going to war over a phone call.
