California is rapacious enough without removing the one protection residents have from excess taxation.
- mikeyouse 10y agoThe ironic thing is that if we had a sensible property tax system, sales and income taxes could be lowered quite a bit and our governments would have much more consistent funding.
- gozur88 10y agoWell, I suppose that's possible. But before Prop 13 passed sales and income taxes were both high by national standards.
- ericd 10y agoProp 13 makes property taxes, rent, and trying to buy a house much more rapacious for newcomers by artificially boosting property values.
