While funding fell through the floor and came no where near what the recommendation was when those models were developed. Those "in another 20 years predictions" are simple adjusted time lines based on the current level of funding.

- dv_dt 10y agoIt's not a failure of the model, and it's unknown if the science failed (as it didn't get a chance to be fully explored), but it's a social/economic/governmental failure. Probably for the same reasons that we are failing to address climate change - in large part, the entrenched interests of existing energy companies.
