That tells me that you haven't been to (Lower) Manhattan. Most of the streets there are narrow, and the sidewalks just as narrow. There's barely any room for expansion.
- TulliusCicero 10y agoSo take a car lane and use that space. Surface transportation land use is necessarily zero sum. As you get more and more people, the only rational course of action is to take space away from low efficiency modes and give it to high efficiency modes.
