works ok for me with one exception. If you use Microsoft dev tools (like Visual Studio) to work on source trees contained in the vm file system, that gets nasty. Specifically, VS likes to poll files and directories for changes. That can push the envelope of the shared file system setup. But that's an odd use case for most people.
