  its written into the constitution that they don't do this, cause of their gestapo history. Ironically Germany are the safest bet because of their past.

  I do not know of any German law which is comparable. Do you have a citation? I agree with the sentiment, but at least legality of snooping has not been settled yet.

    According to the German BSD scandal they still observe the 10% rule. Don't dragnet more than 10% - for their American friends. Whilst most others just take all.
