Oh, was there another populist leader the Germans should have rejected in the 1930s? Do enlighten me.
>Wow you've got a Hitler fixation. I wasn't really talking about him [...]
Projection at its finest. See above.
"LITERALLY HITLER!!!!!!!" is the totality of your argument. Perhaps you should broaden your critical thinking landscape.
- EdHominem 10y agoAs I said, it's kind of cute how you go on about things you've just heard about. > was there another populist leader the Germans should have rejected in the 1930s? Pray tell, which politician do you think I'm comparing to Hitler? I'm certainly referring to Hitler. I am German. He's the last one of those in my country? Are you appropriating my culture? But I'm not saying either of the US presidential candidates are Hitler, literally or otherwise, or even very much like him. Pay attention here... I'm only saying that "legally elected" is almost the least important thing about them. What's important is how they'll govern, not if they managed to win a badly run popularity contest. I do agree with the OP that his friend was hoping for something silly - violence in the street to stop Trump. But, unless the OP had a line where he'd wish for such a thing, he's actually the naive one. There certainly are some examples, like the one I shared from my homeland, where it's worth almost any internal pain (even civil war) to stop the legally elected candidate from assuming power.
- james-watson 10y agoPerhaps you should work on your comprehension of English, because you appear to be struggling to make a coherent point. You're German. You have zero say or input into American politics. But if you believe civil war is preferable to a Trump presidency, please, go ahead and support one of the many groups attempting to incite war. If you succeed, we will meet on the battlefield. The tolerance of the radical left is reaching record highs with this past election. The Holy War of Tolerance is nigh.
- EdHominem 10y agoIt's hilarious how far you'll go to tell me I hate Trump. You choose to see me as speaking about Trump I think that's more telling than anything else. I'm saying that all politicians are potentially dangerous and we should have our eyes on all of them. The mere fact that they've manipulated a flawed system to win a prize doesn't make them harmless. No, my point is that certainly there are some politicians who are worse than a civil war. The OP didn't think such a thing existed, which can be easily disproved with a single counter-example. > we will meet on the battlefield. Threats now. How manly. You hero. > if you believe civil war is preferable to an X presidency ... Well obviously for some X, it is. Only an idiot would think otherwise given the examples from history. Trump though? No. I'm not a supporter but I view him as a bumbler not a killer. I think you guys got trolled, but I don't think it's the end of the world. > You have zero say or input into American politics. Haha, so do you. It's a fucking joke. But thankfully, you're right. Your continual failures aren't my problem. > The tolerance of the radical left is reaching record highs with this past election. Well you don't know who I am, but I know who you are. A hateful war-mongering threat-slinging basement-dweller.
- james-watson 10y agoYou are the crystallized definition of the word "projection". Your pathetic internet posturing means nothing. Continue to cower in fear of your betters in the flesh while venting your cowardice online. In truth, I would very much prefer a civil war. A cleansing fire is long overdue to purge the weak. And it will be far less insufferable than reading your cuckold mewling.
