There is this quote by the late, great philosopher Sidney Morgenbesser. I really like it, and I have shared it with RMS who, to my surprise, wasn't familiar with it. Professor Morgenbesser, whose field of study was American Pragmatism, was asked about his thoughts on pragmatism. It's all very well in theory, but it doesn't work in practice.
