Perhaps they're considering allowing third parties to produce Macintosh compatibles, and macOS would be sold thru OEMs like MS-Windows?
- grzm 10y agoI can't tell if you're joking or not. The first time around licensing the OS was part of the near bankruptcy of Apple. Apple is a hardware company that also makes software that makes the hardware compelling. I don't see it happening, but I think it would be more likely that Apple get rid of Macs and macOS entirely (relying on iOS products) rather than license macOS to third parties.
