Cognitive dissonance much?
- krapp 10y agoHow is that possibly cognitive dissonance? Are you implying that intellectual honesty requires that one must never accept consensus in any form, or else always accept it?
- elmerfud 10y agoWhen calls are made to criminalize those who's views dissent from the experts, and ridicule them as conspiracy theory nuters. Yes it's cognitive dissonance when, you find yourself on the other side of the experts. If you put your faith in the experts to the point of religious fanaticism, you are hypocritical to reject the experts when your personal wants don't coincide with reality.
