Hijacking the thread: was the cause of the GPU glitch with mid 2011 iMacs (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203787 https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203787) ever determined? Mine had this problem. I've been obsessive about keeping all temperature readings below 50C ever since it came back from repair.
