Yes, but what is the negative externality the market is not currently capturing when these devices are assumed into botnets and used against others? Simple economics states that the $20 device is $20 because somebody else is paying for the security mistakes of the shitty device's developers.
- ska 10y agoThis point is key and a lot of people seem to be missing it. We're collectively paying for a lot of this already, it's just hard to measure.
