Security isn't easy. It remains to be seen whether regulation will actually be helpful in getting it right.
Personally, I don't believe that it will, but that's just my opinion.
As with most things in this field, it's one thing to talk about it, another to do it. Schneier has been talking about software liability for a long time.
- sixothree 10y agoI'm not sure regulation in this country is capable of making it easier to provide better security.
- nickpsecurity 10y agoIt was done successfully before. Resulted in most secure products ever to exist. A few still use such methods with excellent results during pentests. Also preempted major vulnerabilities in popular stuff.
