The real problem could be lost in translation of "skills were too far above."
I've found that a lot of coders over-engineer simple components in a way that gets in the way. An example would be writing an entire module for wrapping regular expression methods that already have a clean implementation.
- douche 10y agoNeedless complexity is one of my least favorite bugaboos. My mantra tends to be "Do the simplest possible thing that will work first, and iterate from there". For some reason it is hard to get that across, and some people seem to delight in producing baroque heaps of code for simple tasks, which then often doesn't work correctly.
