Do you know where the specific detail of child trafficking was manufactured? The NYT article doesn't say it.
Also, did the people who made this up think it was a joke? I really don't see how else a hair brain idea like this could be made.
- Rebelgecko 10y agoI believe it came from an email ordering cheese pizza. Cheese pizza and child pornography both abbreviate to CP, so obviously Hillary Clinton and her staff are all ordering children to abuse. Out of morbid curiosity I looked at some of the other 'evidence', and it goes downhill from there (to the level of "so and so went to Portugal on vacation, and while he was in the country a young girl went missing"). The people involved at this point are either trolls or delusional. Probably a mix of both.
- shostack 10y agoThoughts on the Instagram "evidence?" I'm just as skeptical but some of those photos warrant a deeper explanation.

No, there are people who have their children removed who sincerely believe there's a shadowy organisation who steals babies for paedophile rings, or to sell babies. When you look at people who have CPS involved in their families you're going to find a larger proportion of people consumed by conspiracy theory. That sometimes makes them aggressive to people who want to make simple checks, which increases the amount of scrutiny the family comes under.
