Is the AND gate really an AND gate? It seems to be a counter. More like a .skip(1) gate.
- function_seven 10y agoIt really is, with the caveat that a delay line is needed upstream to provide the inputs in sequential time. But it satisfies the AND truth table: A B Y - - - 0 0 0 0 1 0 1 0 0 1 1 1

- function_seven 10y agoI think I may have used the wrong term. What I mean is that if you drop two marbles into the contraption at the same time, they need to be serialized before reaching this AND gate. A typical logic gate allows the signals to arrive simultaneously, but this one doesn’t, so one of the signals (marbles) needs to be held back while the other one goes first.
- seiferteric 10y agoMy only problem with it is that it needs to be reset by removing the first marble to be used again.

- OJFord 10y agoIt is AND/2; doesn't work (without a deeper hole) for more inputs of course. If the semantics of your `skip(n)` fn are "skip the first n logically-high inputs; output the next", then `skip(1)` is AND/2.
