This is a cool project. But when I was in school, if a classmate of mine came in with this, it would have really rustled my jimmies. Some kids have much better resources than other kids.
- pavel_lishin 10y ago> Some kids have much better resources than other kids Do you mean in the sense of "engineer parents who encourage this kind of thing", or in the sense of "their own computer to research this on and time to build it", or in some other sense? I'm assuming you wouldn't have been envious of some kids' access to cardboard and glue.
- blackflame7000 10y agoScience Olympiad is perhaps one of the best examples of the differing level of parental involvement and the impact it makes. However, personally, I always tried to remove the competition from learning despite the curve. Ultimately, what the Jones's are doing has little impact on your own ability to learn and that's what its all about.
- kkoomi 10y agoYes her project would have been much cooler than yours without resources, but at least you see and learn about more diverse and advanced knowledge than from seeing 30 crappy ant farms. Maybe seeting this would have kicked off my interest in programming earlier and I'd be a Mark Zuckerberg now :)
