I strictly disagree. We must never forget that just because (perhaps) you and I reading this didn't contribute to this system with a sense of "purpose and ... shared values" that someone else didn't. And we must not forget that those values may not be in accordance with our own. What appears to be a disorganized mess on the surface may have a much larger design, it's just probably not your design.
