As a CS researcher I probably wouldn't have raised my hand, thinking it was some sort of a trick or that the speaker was making a point about how simple concepts are sometimes conveyed in confusing ways.
I appreciate mathematics, but because I don't use this notation on a regular basis, I wouldn't have been confident enough to raise my hand.
- dllthomas 10y agoYeah, I don't judge those in the audience too harshly. I could certainly see, given limited time allotted, thinking "it's probably not that simple, maybe I'm missing something...?"
