This should be a massive wake-up call for anyone using Gmail (i.e. 99% of those who come to HN), and at the very least we should diversify away from using purely Google products, i.e. consider Outlook for business/banking-related emails. There's no point in trusting them after they did this once, even if they may have reversed it. The fact is they did it once.
